A Snapshot of Your Day
The Project Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Advisor is responsible for supporting and providing competent advice to project teams, ensuring that all relevant EHS aspects and resource requirements at each step of an assigned project are identified and evaluated in accordance with internal Siemens Energy requirements. This is a roaming role to provide additional support to projects when needed, particularly during complex and high-risk stages or due to staff annual leave.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Support the integration of EHS requirements in bid documents, ensuring applicable EHS requirements and resources are reflected in the bid and contract preparation.
- Assist the Project Manager in updating the EHS risk evaluation and ensure all EHS-related information is properly handed over to the execution project manager.
- Participate in initial site inspections and draft the project Construction Phase Plan and secondary plans such as the Local Emergency Response Plan and Traffic Management Plan.
- Update and finalize the Construction Phase Plan and secondary plans, ensuring they meet all requirements from the Client and SE EHS Management System.
- Ensure compliance with national and international dangerous goods regulations for all project activities.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of construction activities and assist the site management team with EHS activities.
- Coordinate and deliver EHS campaigns on site as required and compile monthly reports throughout the project phases.
What You Bring
- NEBOSH Certificate; ideally a Diploma or equivalent in Health & Safety Management.
- A diploma or equivalent in Environmental Management is desirable.
- Detailed knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation for large construction projects, including offshore and onshore operations.
- Experience in inspections and working with standards (ISO45001, ISO14001).
- Experience in developing EHS arrangements for Principal Contractors under CDM regulations.
- Other competencies may include CDM Awareness, HSG47 awareness training, CCNSG Passport, Accident investigation, Safety by Design, Fire Safety, and IOSH Membership.
- Desirable competencies include Investigation Training (Top Set), COSHH Assessor, Manual Handling Assessor, Safety coaching/behavioral safety, and First Aid at Work certification.
- Full driving license.

The high-performing EHS Team in the UK consists of EHS Managers and Advisors who support the Grid Solutions businesses. The team works on a wide portfolio of prestigious projects, including substations, HVDC interconnectors, wind farm connections, Grid Access, Flexible AC Transmission Systems, and synchronous condensers. The EHS Team collaborates closely with colleagues in the Environment and Quality Teams.
