About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
Join us as a motivated and technically minded early career technical service engineer, where you’ll play a vital role in supporting service operations for large-scale steam turbines in the power generation industry. Imagine gaining hands-on experience with some of the world’s most critical power generation equipment while collaborating closely with field service engineers and project managers to facilitate outage planning for extensive steam turbine fleets. This dynamic role blends engineering fundamentals with customer interaction and field service support, providing a unique opportunity to grow your skills. Over the first 12-24 months, you will receive on-site training at utility and industrial power generation facilities during planned outages and maintenance events, gaining invaluable exposure to steam turbine disassembly, inspection, repair processes, reassembly, and commissioning activities, all while benefiting from direct mentorship by senior turbine service professionals with decades of experience.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop knowledge of steam turbine components, power plant systems, and industry maintenance practices.
- Review operating data, inspection findings, and maintenance reports to help identify equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support field service and project management teams with outage planning, work scope development, and service documentation.
- Help prepare technical reports, service recommendations, and customer presentations.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline. Up to 2 years of relevant experience in engineering, manufacturing, maintenance, field service, power generation, or industrial operations. New graduate or entry-level candidates with relevant industry coursework experience are welcome to apply.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and keen interest in rotating equipment, combined with proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation to ensure clarity and precision in project execution.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, facilitating the effective conveyance of technical information to diverse audiences.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Willing to travel up to 15% domestically as required, demonstrating flexibility and commitment to project needs.
- Ability to access industrial power generation facilities, including climbing ladders and stairs, lift and carry up to 30 pounds occasionally, and work in varying environmental conditions such as noise, heat, and confined spaces while adhering to all safety protocols. After the training phase, you will support steam turbine service planning activities mostly from the back office.
