About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
The Quality Assurance Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, process compliance, and manufacturing excellence within the Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy blade production facility. This position is responsible for performing visual, dimensional, and gage inspections; documenting and analyzing inspection results; and supporting process controls to ensure materials, components, and finished products meet engineering specifications, industry standards, and customer requirements. Working closely with operations, engineers, and quality teams, the Quality Assurance Inspector helps maintain the highest levels of product integrity, safety, and operational performance.
2nd shift: 2:10 p.m. to 10:40 p.m.
5 days a week with potential Saturday work for overtime.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Perform visual, dimensional, and gage inspections of materials, components, and finished products in accordance with quality standards and specifications.
- Interpret inspection results and recommend appropriate actions based on engineering drawings, process specifications, and quality requirements.
- Accurately document, organize, and maintain inspection records, test results, and quality reports in a timely manner.
- Conduct process control checks to verify equipment, materials, and production processes meet required standards prior to inspections.
- Perform required laboratory tests, inspections, and evaluations to validate material and product quality.
- Set up, operate, maintain, and calibrate inspection, testing, and laboratory equipment as needed.
- Execute final inspections and determine product acceptance or rejection based on established quality criteria.
- Interpret drawings, sketches, and specifications to verify dimensions, material requirements, and product conformance.
- Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, and production personnel to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes.
- Support vendor material qualification activities through testing, analysis, and evaluation procedures.
- Assemble, verify dimensions, and disassemble components or inspection setups as required.
- Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced inspectors when needed.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment while adhering to all company safety standards and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and team-based problem-solving efforts to enhance product quality and operational efficiency.
What You Bring
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a General Aptitude Test.
- Certification in Visual Inspection or the ability to obtain certification.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and working within the metric measurement system.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and inspection equipment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Demonstrated ability to accurately collect, record, and maintain quality and inspection data.
- Experience working with SAP and other manufacturing or quality management systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted on a regular basis.
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods throughout the workday.
- Willingness to work overtime, including up to 12-hour shifts and additional days as business needs require.
