About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
In your role as Project Manager Onshore for grid technology projects you will work within multiple project teams for different portfolio types as central entry point to manage, support and deliver the necessary results for onshore systems team. You’ll be responsible for managing the electrical and mechanical team (onshore team) in execution projects and leading the execution of engineering tasks in accordance with project requirements, adhering to the established time schedule and quality standards.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Proposal engineering: evaluation and commenting of customer specification, customers questionnaire, deviations, compilation of proposal documents, cost calculations.
- Evaluation of EPC contract (customer specification, etc.).
- Preparation of the time schedule of onshore engineering team.
- Supervision of deadlines, quality, and costs and all the resources needed.
- Responsible for claim management and negotiations, trouble shooting and client design review process.
- Participation in engineering and optimization of interfaces.
- Coordination of the preparation of required documentation such as erection and O&M-Manuals.
- Review of sub-contractors engineering and supervision of their time schedules and costs.
- Preparation of affiliated documents e.g. Overall Single Line Diagram.
- Performing technical evaluation and supplier selection in close collaboration with the procurement team.
- Review supplier documentation and verify compliance with defined contract requirements.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests in cooperation with sub-suppliers and customers.
- Provide technical support during the commissioning phase.
- Performs other tasks as assigned by the superior in accordance with his/her knowledge, experience and professional skills.
What You Bring
- University degree in Electrical Power Engineering or equivalent combination of education and with minimum 5 years’ experience from EPC market.
- Experience in project engineering and project management, including customer clarification and collaboration within complex, cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge about Building Information Modeling (BIM) methodology, related software & tools, data exchange strategies and BIM processes.
- Knowledge of engineering design criteria and document review.
- Knowledge of methods and workflows from conceptual phase up to site engineering phase.
- Capability to analyze dedicated project requirements in terms of local standards and codes and to identify proper implementation actions.
- Capability to design electrical systems configuration
- Capability to define functional philosophies for electrical system control
- Knowledge of static and dynamic equipment related to cooling systems
- Understanding of cooling systems process flow and system control
- Knowledge of building services (electrical and mechanical)
- Knowledge of international standards for AC & DC systems (IEC, IEEE, EN and VDE)
- Capability of changing perspectives and adapting strategies and actions to the dynamic environment
- Ability to manage subcontracted engineering work packages, including scope definition, milestones, deliverables, and follow-up of execution.
- Strong skills in scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting.
- Experience in budget planning, tracking, and reporting.
- Strong communication skills
- Capability of multitasking, with excellent organizational skills while assuring a high-quality work process
- Intercultural sensitivity, to work in (virtual) international team
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills, ability to analyze and learn as well as motivation, result orientation and enthusiasm to make a positive contribution to the team.
- Fully conversant with Microsoft – Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio
- Business-level fluency in English. German skills will be beneficial.
- Willingness to travel internationally (<30%)
