We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Product Owner to join our Grid Automation Portfolio Development team and help shape the future of substation automation software. Operating at the intersection of business strategy, customer needs, and technical execution, this role ensures innovative software solutions meet market demands and support the evolution of modern grid infrastructure. From collaborating with agile development teams and refining user stories for complex features such as IEC 61850 implementations and cybersecurity requirements to engaging with customers and global stakeholders, you will play a key role in transforming ideas into valuable product outcomes. Along the way, you will guide product priorities, leverage market insights, and partner with Product Owners across the Grid Automation Portfolio to drive innovation and continuous improvement.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Drive the product backlog by defining, refining, and prioritizing features, ensuring development activities align with the
  • Grid Automation portfolio strategy and broader business objectives.
  • Partner with customers, internal stakeholders, and external partners to provide technical consultation and support throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Gather and evaluate requirements from sales, engineering, service teams, customers, and regulatory bodies, translating business needs into clear product priorities.
  • Create detailed user stories, acceptance criteria, and use cases that enable development teams to deliver high-quality solutions efficiently.
  • Contribute actively to Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives, helping teams clarify requirements and remove obstacles.
  • Work closely with Product Owners across the Grid Automation portfolio while leveraging post-launch feedback and market insights to continuously improve product performance and customer value.


What You Bring

  • You hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automation Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Several years of experience in engineering HMI and SCADA systems for control systems as well as energy transmission and distribution applications enable you to understand complex customer requirements.
  • Strong expertise in HMI software and substation automation solutions such as WinCC, Zenon, ZEE600, SICAM PAS, SICAM A8000, or comparable platforms sets you apart.
  • Professional certifications in Product Ownership or Agile methodologies, such as CSPO or PSPO, support your ability to drive product success in an Agile environment.
  • Familiarity with modern grid automation concepts, smart grid technologies, industry developments, and Agile/Scrum practices allows you to contribute effectively from day one.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills, combined with a proactive mindset, strong ownership, and fluent English skills; German language proficiency is an advantage.
