About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
The HSE advisor for Major Projects acts as the project’s safety leader and advisor, working closely with project managers, site teams, and contractors to ensure safe execution from planning through completion of the task. A typical day includes reviewing project risks, conducting site inspections, verifying compliance with legal and company HSE requirements, leading contractor safety meetings, monitoring incident reporting and corrective actions, supporting emergency preparedness, and coaching teams to maintain a strong safety culture, ensuring that people, environment, and operational objectives remain protected throughout the project lifecycle.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Implement and maintain the EHS management system (ISO 45001, ISO 14001) for the Southern Cone Major Project.
- Provide expert advice on local and international EHS regulations, standards, and industry best practices to ensure full compliance.
- Review and approve contractor EHS plans and procedures to ensure alignment with Major Project requirements.
- Promote a proactive "Zero Harm" culture through visible leadership, effective communication, and collaboration with all stakeholders.
- Develop and deliver specific EHS training and competency programs for employees and contractors.
- Act as the lead EHS advisor, collaborating with clients, regulatory bodies, and SGRE Major Project representatives on all EHS-related matters.
- Conduct periodic EHS audits, inspections, and performance reviews to identify risks and areas for improvement within the Major Project.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field.
- EHS Management Systems & Regulatory Compliance: Experience with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and Brazilian EHS regulations.
- Incident Investigation & Risk Management: Root cause analysis, risk assessments, hazard identification, and corrective actions.
- Auditing & Field Inspections: Conduct EHS audits, inspections, and compliance reviews in operational environments.
- Stakeholder Management & Safety Leadership: Ability to influence teams and contractors while promoting a strong safety culture.
- Data Analysis & Problem-Solving: Experience with EHS KPIs, Power BI reporting, decision-making, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The team combines a series of HSE professionals who partner closely with operations, contractors, and customers to drive compliance, incident prevention, risk management, and continuous improvement. Their work ranges from site inspections, contractor engagement, and emergency preparedness to KPI monitoring, safety campaigns, and sharing best practices across the region, all with a common goal: ensuring that everyone returns home safe every day.
