About the Role
- As part of Grid Technologies Services Operational Excellence, you will support Engineering teams across the business segment in improving how work is performed. You will collaborate with engineering leaders, process owners, and technical experts across Transformer and Switchgear to identify opportunities to simplify processes and enable them through digital solutions, automation, data, and AI
- You will contribute to initiatives from opportunity identification and requirements definition through piloting, implementation, adoption, and benefit tracking. The role combines hands-on process analysis with project coordination and close collaboration between Engineering, business stakeholders, IT, data, automation, and AI specialists
How You Will Make an Impact
- Support Engineering teams across Transformer and Switchgear as their dedicated Operational Excellence contact for process improvement, digitalization, automation, data, and AI topics
- Analyze end-to-end engineering processes, identify pain points, waste, and handoffs, and help design and implement more efficient future-state processes
- Translate common standards and ways of working into practical process changes, digital workflows, controls, and reusable solutions
- Coordinate digitalization and automation initiatives that improve productivity, quality, transparency, and delivery performance
- Maintain and help prioritize a pipeline of improvement opportunities based on business value, feasibility, and implementation readiness
- Identify practical AI use cases within engineering processes and support their development from problem definition and data assessment through proof of concept, MVP, rollout, and adoption
- Translate business and engineering needs into clear requirements for IT, data, automation, AI, and other delivery partners
- Define targets and track benefits such as cycle-time reduction, quality improvement, productivity gains, and user adoption
- Support communication, change activities, training, and knowledge sharing to embed new processes and solutions in day-to-day work
- Share progress, risks, decisions, and results with stakeholders and help scale successful solutions across teams and regions
- A university degree in Engineering, Business, Information Technology, Digital Business, Computer Science, or a related field
- Several years of relevant experience in process improvement, digital transformation, automation, AI, product management, or project delivery, ideally in an industrial environment
- A strong process mindset and the ability to understand workflows, identify root causes, and turn improvement potential into practical measures
- Experience supporting digital or automation initiatives from requirements and prototyping through implementation, rollout, adoption, and benefit tracking
- Good understanding of AI opportunities and limitations, with the ability to identify realistic use cases and collaborate with technical specialists
- Ability to connect business, engineering, data, and technology perspectives and communicate clearly with different stakeholder groups
- Good project coordination and stakeholder management skills, with a proactive and collaborative way of working across functions and regions
- A pragmatic, value-oriented approach focused on measurable impact, user adoption, and sustainable implementation
- Familiarity with enterprise or engineering environments such as SAP, PLM, workflow platforms, data and analytics solutions, automation tools, or applied AI is an advantage
- Lean or Six Sigma certification is beneficial
- Fluency in English and willingness to travel internationally on an occasional basis
