A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Head of Financial Data and Systems, you will lead a specialized team responsible for the entire financial data landscape within the Wind Power division. This role is pivotal in driving our digital finance vision by interconnecting all financial and finance-relevant data and systems, thereby empowering the finance community with robust, accessible, and reliable data products. You will be responsible for both people leadership and technical-strategic direction. This includes managing a team of experienced data professionals, fostering their growth, and enhancing their financial domain knowledge. Concurrently, you will own the end-to-end architecture and delivery of our financial data platforms, including our Azure-based environment and core data warehousing solutions. Success in this role requires bridging the gap between finance and technology. You will lead data governance for the finance domain, own the development of a central data products service, and champion data literacy across the business. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leading technical data teams, deep expertise in data architecture and engineering within an enterprise context, and a strong ability to collaborate with and influence diverse stakeholders to foster a data-driven culture.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Own the end-to-end intake and delivery of enhancement requests for financial data systems, translating business needs into clear, deliverable features.
- Provide technical oversight and architecture-level direction, ensuring solutions are designed for scalability, reusability, and resilience across the full system landscape.
- Manage and oversee core platform backend resources, including the Azure environment, Git repositories, and Azure DevOps, to ensure stability and operational readiness.
- Lead DevOps planning and delivery management, including running planning sessions and refining acceptance criteria to ensure the development team can execute efficiently.
- Lead and mentor a team of experienced data professionals through regular coaching, 1:1s, and performance management to foster a high-performance culture.
- Create and support practical development paths for technical staff within a finance organization, enabling hands-on learning and targeted experience-building.
- Drive finance upskilling across the technical team by embedding financial understanding of budgeting, forecasting, and planning into delivery conversations.
- Plan, prioritize, and direct team responsibilities, ensuring alignment with departmental policies and achievement of short-term (1-year) strategic goals.
- Lead data engineering and governance activities for the digital finance domain, applying enterprise data governance frameworks to ensure compliance and quality.
- Own and operate the central Community Data Pool (CDP) as the primary data products service for finance-relevant data.
- Collaborate with IT and business stakeholders to ensure seamless data availability and proactive alignment on infrastructure changes, such as tenant migrations or capacity upgrades.
- Promote data literacy and steward engagement across the finance community to support a culture of data-driven decision-making.
