This role for a Maintainability Engineer is requested to ensure business continuity and timely project delivery within the Onshore Engineering team, addressing an increased workload and a recent resignation. To meet these objectives, the role focuses on three core areas: developing and managing maintenance documentation and processes, providing technical field support and validation for the existing fleet, and influencing future turbine design to enhance serviceability. This structure ensures that both immediate fleet issues and long-term maintenance efficiency are addressed. Given the focus on technical documentation and hands-on validation, the ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical Engineering, significant experience in wind turbine maintenance, and proficiency with documentation tools like Teamcenter, TPS, Windchill and Arbor Text.
How You’ll Make an Impact
50% Maintenance Documentation and Process Development
- Develop and update maintenance documentation, including Work Instructions (WIs) in Teamcenter and Task Descriptions (TDs) in Product Data Management (PDM) tools.
- Create and publish technical documentation for maintenance procedures using specialized software such as Tech Pub Studio and Arbor Text.
- Define and refine methods and tooling requirements for preventive and corrective maintenance activities on Siemens Gamesa (SGRE) wind turbine platforms.
- Propose and implement improvements to existing maintenance processes to enhance efficiency and safety.
50% Technical Support and Field Validation
- Provide dedicated fleet support by investigating, analyzing, and resolving complex technical issues escalated from wind farms.
- Be part of on-site validations of new maintenance methods, procedures, and specialized tools to ensure their effectiveness and safety in real-world conditions, as and when needed.
Certifications
Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Safety Training
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 8-9 years of experience in the wind energy sector, specifically with wind turbine maintenance.
- Proven hands-on experience with preventive and corrective maintenance tasks on wind turbines.

About Team
This role is a part of Maintenance and Task Creation Team within Siemens Energy Wind Power Division. The team caters directly to the Service engineers and technicians working on the wind turbines by creating maintenance processes and Work instructions for corrective and preventive maintenance. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop maintenance processes for our entire Onshore fleet while also determining the need for any new tool during the replacement process after careful analysis.
