A Snapshot of Your Day
This role as a Technical Writer within the Maintenance Task Creation team, part of Siemens Energy's Wind Power division. The role will focus on two primary areas: the creation and updating of technical documentation for wind turbine maintenance tooling, and the rigorous management of the entire documentation lifecycle. This involves translating complex engineering information into clear, concise maintenance procedures and ensuring all documents adhere to strict quality and version control standards. *Given the focus on technical content and process control, the ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a background in technical writing using Arbortext editor and Tech Pub Studio. *Apply expertise in topic-based authoring to produce modular, reusable, and structured content aligned with industry standards. *Work effectively with 3D models as a key resource, extracting relevant details to enhance technical documentation with accurate and visually compelling illustrations. *Participate in on-site validation of maintenance tasks, capturing visuals and feedback to refine final work instructions. *Proficiency in document management systems such as Windchill and Teamcenter, understanding of engineering change processes, and the ability to work independently are essential requirements for this position.
How You’ll Make an Impact
100% Technical Documentation Creation & Maintenance
  • Author, edit, and update technical documentation, including maintenance procedures, work instructions, and user manuals for wind turbine tooling.
  • Translate complex technical information from engineering drawings and specifications into clear, accurate, and user-friendly content for technicians.
  • Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather information and ensure the technical accuracy and completeness of all documentation.
  • Manage illustration and graphic content to support written procedures.
  • Ensure all technical documentation complies with internal organizational policies, quality standards, and industry best practices.
  • Identify and suggest improvements to documentation processes, templates, and standards to increase efficiency and quality.
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Technical Communication, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, typically 2-5 years, within an engineering, manufacturing, or technical environment.

About Team:
This role is a part of Maintenance and Task Creation Team within Siemens Energy Wind Power Division. The team caters directly to the Service engineers and technicians working on the wind turbines by creating maintenance processes and Work instructions for corrective and preventive maintenance. This position offers you to bring your technical writing skills to build Work instructions to be used ultimately by the service technicians in the field. This role also offers you to suggest process improvement in documentation time to technicians.
