Join our dynamic production team as a Mechanical Fitter, where your hands-on expertise will play a crucial role in assembling, stripping, and maintaining small gas turbine components. Imagine utilizing a variety of tools and precision equipment to ensure that every part meets our stringent quality and engineering standards. You will operate within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, directly contributing to the technology that powers global communities. Your day will involve precise assembly of mechanical components, safe operation of lifting equipment, and meticulous recording of build data, all while prioritizing safety and quality. Collaborating closely with supporting departments, you will troubleshoot issues and maintain high standards of workmanship, fostering a culture of excellence and teamwork.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • You will assemble, strip, and reuse small gas turbine components according to engineering specifications, ensuring all parts meet exacting standards.
  • Utilize a variety of hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment with high accuracy to perform mechanical fitting tasks on rotating equipment.
  • Safely operate lifting equipment and fixtures to efficiently move components during the assembly process while maintaining accurate records of build figures and production data.
  • Uphold a strong commitment to quality and safety standards, ensuring compliance with all regulations and maintaining a tidy workspace through 5S principles.
  • Actively identify and suggest ideas for process improvements, fostering open communication and collaboration with supporting departments to enhance efficiency and quality.

What You Bring

  • Completion of a recognized Level 3 apprenticeship in a relevant mechanical engineering discipline.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent technical certificate in a mechanical engineering field, along with relevant industry experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in a mechanical fitting role, preferably involving rotating equipment.
  • Proficiency in mechanical fitting, use of precision measuring equipment, and operation of hand and power tools.
  • Strong attention to detail, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with a commitment to quality control and adherence to safety protocols.

About the Team
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
