About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
A Customer has reported one of his redundant Servers for the HMI of his HVDC System is sporadically rebooting. Together with Experts in Erlangen you are analyzing the root cause of this Issue and based on this you recommend a change of the configuration of the Network. In addition to day-to-day business, your focus will be on developing new security concepts, revising existing processes and advising external and internal customers. As part of a hybrid working method, you will work either in the office in Bucharest, on the test site in Erlangen/Germany or client sites.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Designing future-proof IT/OT security strategies and concepts based on international applicable standards and industry best practices.
- Analyzing and processing customer enquiries, advising on IT/OT issues and working closely with internal departments and suppliers.
- Maintaining and operating a test environment to simulate production systems; carrying out vulnerability analyses, supporting penetration tests and security update tests.
- Creating technical documentation, vulnerability analysis reports and maintaining asset management systems for transparency and regulatory compliance.
- Providing technical expertise for proposal activities, presenting security concepts and supporting the creation of customer-oriented solutions.
- Design and advise on secure network architectures for multi-layered systems, applying security-by-design and defense-in-depth principles.
- Completed education in network/communication technology or Bachelor Degree, computer science or IT security, alternatively a relevant apprenticeship with several years of professional experience.
- Proven experience with vulnerability scanning tools e.g. Nessus Scan or similar : ability to perform comprehensive vulnerability assessments, identify and prioritize vulnerabilities based on severity and potential impact, provide clear and actionable recommendations for remediation.
- Proven hands-on experience in the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of IT/OT networks, with expertise in routing, switching, VLANs, firewall policies, and network segmentation.
- Sound knowledge of IT k administration (e.g. Windows Server, Active Directory, WSUS, virtualization) as well as 2+ years of experience in supporting problem solving in the area of critical infrastructures.
- Familiarity with national and international IT security standards in the industrial environment (e.g. NIS2, BDEW, NERC-CIP, IEC 62443, CRA).
- Willingness to spend several days at customer sites and willingness to travel internationally (approx. 30%).
- Knowledge of English, Customer-orientation, motivation and intercultural interest.
- High level of commitment, ability to work in a team and willingness to solve technical challenges pragmatically and purposefully.
