About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Commercial Project Manager (CPM) within the IT EAD business unit, you will be responsible for all financial and commercial aspects of the projects in your portfolio. Reporting directly to the Financial Manager and working in partnership with the Project Manager (PM), you will oversee the commercial, financial, and contractual execution of projects—from the handover stage (when the Sales team transfers the newly signed contract) through to final delivery to the client and the contractual warranty period. Your responsibilities include monitoring project revenue and margins, actively tracking cash flow, controlling costs, and managing interfaces with various internal and external stakeholders—such as clients, suppliers, and internal teams across engineering, procurement, logistics, legal, and other departments. Additionally, the role involves tasks related to financial reporting and maintaining project data in SAP and other tools used at both global and local levels.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Manage a medium-to-high complexity portfolio of multiple contracts involving high-value, high-impact custom solution projects.
- Oversee accurate order entry and conduct detailed analyses of project margins and cash flow.
- Maintain full financial control of projects, performing monthly reviews of costs, cash flow, and revenue, while assessing variances, risks, and opportunities.
- Monitor contractual milestones, handle billing and invoice processing, and execute currency hedging and derivatives transactions.
- Ensure compliance with Siemens Energy financial policies, FRG requirements, and project management guidelines, maintaining records for audits.
- Demonstrate ownership by serving as a key member of the project management team, partnering with the Project Manager to drive contract execution.
What You Bring
- Strong teamwork and stakeholder management skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and strategic thinking.
- Creative problem-solving abilities.
- Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field, with 3–5 years of experience in commercial/financial project management.
- Ability to interpret contractual language for appropriate financial treatment and knowledge of various revenue recognition methodologies, particularly CCM and POC.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and SAP, with familiarity in tools such as Power BI, dashboards, and AI; intermediate/advanced English proficiency is required, and CPM or PM certification is a plus.
