A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Mechanical Design Engineer and Team Lead Generator Engineering, you will combine technical leadership with people management, guiding a team of engineers in Brno while contributing to the design, modernization, and service of industrial generators and electrical machines. Your day may include collaborating with specialists, production teams, sales colleagues, and international engineering partners to develop technical solutions for customer projects. By driving engineering excellence, innovation, and knowledge sharing, you will help deliver reliable and efficient solutions that support our customers and the energy transition.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead and develop the local Generator Engineering team in Brno, covering mechanical design as well as electrical and mechanical calculations.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture through coaching, knowledge sharing, and continuous capability development.
- Support customer projects across proposal preparation, order execution, technical consultations, and project delivery.
- Develop technical solutions for generator repairs, upgrades, optimization projects, and installed-base service activities.
- Contribute to R&D initiatives focused on design integration, design-to-cost, and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
- Support production and business objectives by driving quality, delivery reliability, cost efficiency, and operational excellence.
- Lead digitalization, automation, and innovation activities that enhance engineering workflows and future-ready ways of working.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and support resource and cost-center planning activities.
What You Bring
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Several years of experience in engineering and service activities related to generators, motors, or other electrical machines.
- Strong technical knowledge of electrical machines, including generators, synchronous and asynchronous machines, and related service solutions.
- Experience with engineering and design tools such as NX, Creo, and PLM systems.
- Proven leadership experience with the ability to develop teams, align stakeholders, and collaborate across international organizations.
- Structured, customer-focused, and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to translate technical challenges into practical decisions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, combined with a collaborative mindset.
- Very good English skills; German is an advantage.
