Imagine leading a dynamic engineering team where your focus is on empowering others and driving continuous improvement. In this role, you will allocate work, manage priorities, and resolve conflicts while supporting your engineers through both technical and professional challenges. You will represent your domain in discussions with Project Managers, customers, and other discipline leads, ensuring that standards and ways of working remain consistent across the team. Your leadership will not only shape the team’s capabilities but also influence hiring and development decisions, allowing you to make a significant impact on the team’s success.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Lead daily operations: You will run day-to-day activities for the team, ensuring effective allocation of work and management of priorities and conflicts.
  • Own capability and standards: Ensure consistent ways of working across the team, maintaining high standards in all deliverables.
  • Coach and develop engineers: Support your team’s technical and professional growth by identifying capability gaps and shaping development plans.
  • Influence hiring and promotions: Play a key role in building a strong, well-rounded team by contributing to hiring and promotion decisions.
  • Act as a senior point of contact: Represent your domain in project discussions, collaborating with customers and cross-discipline teams to drive success.

What You Bring

  • Leadership experience: Proven experience in leading, coaching, or mentoring engineers, with a genuine interest in their development.
  • Strong communication skills: Ability to effectively manage stakeholders and represent your domain confidently to customers and senior leadership.
  • Judgment under pressure: A track record of making sound decisions while balancing team well-being, delivery pressure, and quality.
  • Technical credibility: Senior-level experience in protection and control engineering for High Voltage substations, enabling you to challenge and support your team effectively.
  • Collaborative leadership style: A servant-leadership approach that empowers others while holding accountability.


EU citizens who are willing to relocate to the UK will be considered.
