A Snapshot of Your Day
Join our dynamic team as a Primary Substation Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of energy infrastructure. Imagine developing project design criteria and preparing detailed one-line diagrams that serve as the backbone of our substations. You will lead the creation of general arrangement layouts and grounding drawings, ensuring every detail is meticulously crafted. As you perform essential calculations for cable ampacity and station auxiliary loads, you will support innovative designs for proposals and projects. Your expertise will not only enhance our engineering deliverables but also contribute to the success of our projects and customer satisfaction.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- You will develop project design criteria and prepare main one-line and auxiliary one-line diagrams.
- Create general arrangement, layout, and elevation drawings for substations and switchyards.
- Perform critical calculations for cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, illumination, and station auxiliary loads.
- Develop equipment specifications and detailed bills of materials to ensure project accuracy.
- Collaborate with marketing and project teams to support project execution and customer meetings.
- Identify potential issues and provide solutions to enhance safety, reliability, and project timelines.
What You Bring
- A Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, with a preference for power systems emphasis.
- At least 5 years of experience in primary electrical design for high voltage substations or FACTS.
- Fluent proficiency in English, with strong communication skills is essential.
- Knowledge of ANSI and IEC standards, as well as NEC regulations.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Revit; Microstation skills are a plus.
- Flexibility to travel locally and internationally, with approximately 20% travel required.
