Support for a key strategic account for the UK&I business, as the activities of the Bid Management team expand across Europe. This position is critical for managing the increased volume of complex technical offers and ensuring consistent service delivery to a vital client. To address this business need, the role is structured around three core areas: Technical Offer Development & Solution Design, Commercial Proposal & Bid Management, and Client & Stakeholder Engagement. This framework ensures a comprehensive approach, from understanding client technical requirements to delivering competitive and commercially sound proposals. Given the focus on high-value, technical bids, the ideal candidate will possess a strong background in electrical engineering or a related field, combined with proven experience in technical sales or proposal management within the energy sector. Expertise in managing complex projects and fostering strong client relationships is essential for success in this specialist professional role.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• 50% Technical Offer Development & Solution Design
  • Collaborate with internal engineering and product management teams to design and configure compliant and competitive technical solutions.
  • Author the technical sections of complex bids and proposals, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with client needs.
  • Act as the primary technical interface between the customer and company engineering, manufacturing, and program management representatives.
  • Analyze customer technical specifications and requirements for grid technology projects.
• 30% Commercial Proposal & Bid Management
  • Develop pricing considerations and support the creation of cost models for proposals in collaboration with the commercial team.
  • Identify and document technical and commercial risks and opportunities within bids, contributing to contract requirement development.
  • Prepare and maintain sales forecasts and report on bid activity using company CRM and sales tools.
  • Manage the end-to-end bid preparation process for the key account, ensuring all deadlines are met and deliverables are coordinated across functions.
• 20% Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key technical and commercial stakeholders.
  • Prepare and conduct technical sales briefings, solution presentations, and product demonstrations for the client.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders across different regions and functions to ensure a unified and strategic approach to the account.
  • Investigate new applications or potential improvements to products in collaboration with the customer to drive future business.

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Significant professional experience (typically 5-8+ years) in technical sales, bid management, or proposal engineering, preferably within the energy, utilities, or grid technology sector.
• Proven experience managing large, complex technical proposals or projects with limited oversight.
• Strong technical and analytical skills, including technical sales, troubleshooting and problem‑solving, business acumen, and sales forecasting to support customer engagement, identify business opportunities, and drive commercial success.
• Proven skills in sales and proposal management, including selling techniques, workflow management, sales presentations, and negotiation to support customer engagement, develop competitive proposals, and drive successful business outcomes.
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including customer relationship management, relationship building, influencing skills, and strategic thinking to foster strong stakeholder relationships, support business growth, and drive successful outcomes.
