A Snapshot of Your Day
Imagine taking ownership of the mechanical design of high-voltage circuit breaker assemblies that help power critical infrastructure around the world. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will drive design solutions from concept development through validation and implementation, balancing performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost. Working closely with local factory teams and global R&D partners, you will solve complex engineering challenges, support product improvements, and contribute to the continuous evolution of our product portfolio. Your curiosity, proactive mindset, and passion for learning will help shape innovative and reliable engineering solutions.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Lead mechanical design activities for high-voltage circuit breaker assemblies, with a focus on IU/VIU integration, mechanical interfaces, manufacturability, reliability, and cost optimization.
- Create and maintain 3D models, 2D drawings, Bills of Materials (BoMs), and technical documentation to support product development and project execution.
- Independently develop and evaluate design concepts, including tolerance chains, force transmission systems, assembly sequences, current path interfaces, insulation components, and operating mechanism interfaces.
- Drive technical clarification, design reviews, risk assessments, type test support, failure analysis, and implementation of design improvements.
- Ensure engineering documentation is maintained and updated in accordance with established project and product lifecycle management processes.
- Collaborate closely with factory, engineering, testing, and global R&D teams to ensure successful product development and implementation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance product performance, quality, and manufacturing efficiency.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of mechanical design experience in high-voltage switchgear, preferably involving circuit breakers, IU/VIU integration, operating mechanisms, or current path assemblies.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design fundamentals, including strength calculation, kinematics, force transmission, assembly concepts, and tolerance analysis.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as Creo/ProE or equivalent, including large assembly modeling and product structure management.
- Good understanding of mechanical interfaces, operating mechanisms, insulation components, current paths, and design-for-manufacturing principles.
- Experience supporting product development, design verification, type testing, failure analysis, and product improvement activities is an advantage.
- Knowledge of GIS/AIS products and related IEC, GB/T, or IEEE standards is preferred.
- Strong English communication skills, both written and spoken, for effective technical discussions within an international environment.
- A proactive, self-driven, and solution-oriented mindset with a strong curiosity for technology and a passion for continuous learning.
- A collaborative team player who enjoys sharing knowledge, challenging ideas constructively, and working across cultures and functions.
