Join our dynamic team as a Quality Engineer, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the Quality Manager throughout all stages of the project lifecycle, including manufacturing and installation. You will ensure that all standards and specifications are met by conducting pre-manufacturing inspections and in-process audits at construction sites and supplier locations. The Quality Engineer will play a vital role as a support function in all areas of the project management process, ranging from tendering and sales, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning. Your keen eye for detail will help identify and control deviations through our non-conformance process. By actively engaging with suppliers and the project team, you will contribute to delivering a compliant, defect-free product on time, making a significant impact on our projects.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Participate in audits on internal and subcontractor ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems to ensure compliance with specifications and standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Conduct, facilitate, and/or attend pre-manufacturing, in-process, and pre-delivery inspections to identify potential issues early in the manufacturing process.
- Participate in project-related activities in all aspects of the project lifecycle including tendering and sales, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
- Manage and collate essential construction and installation documentation, ensuring efficient capture and storage of Quality Documentation.
- Ensure adherence to Inspection and Test Plans, reviewing and approving Quality Plans while monitoring compliance verification activities.
- Provide weekly quality reports to the QMiP, highlighting site progress and any issues that require escalation.
- Support the site team in managing and closing out Non-Conformances using the Siemens NCR+ tool, ensuring timely resolution of actual deviations from specifications.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, representing Quality during meetings, during project-specific deliverables, and site inspections when applicable.
What You Bring
- Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electro Technical, or Information Technology preferred. In lieu of a degree equivalent and relevant experience may be considered.
- 3+ years of experience in project-related roles (erection, engineering, commissioning, etc.) is required
- Previous experience with HVDC or AC Grid Access Substations is highly desirable.
- You have experience working as part of a Project Delivery Team.
- Experience in managing defects and customer complaints is a plus.
- Ability to travel up to 30% domestically.
