About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
As a Lab Technician, you will be exposed to a wide range of projects and tasks dealing with the assembly and testing of high voltage circuit breakers and components, as well as the implementation and commissioning of those products with customers. This position will be part of the Development Engineering department for high voltage circuit breakers. We also are part of a global R&D network so while we focus on local products, we also work with global teams for development and testing of new products and technologies.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Assemble, test, troubleshoot and inspect high voltage circuit breakers.
- Maintain and operate tools and equipment, from hand tools to high voltage test sets.
- Participate in planning, setup and conducting mechanical and electrical tests for circuit breaker products on-site and at 3rd party labratories,
- Work with engineering, quality and manufacturing in support of meeting overall business targets.
- Participation in facility safety and improvement projects.
- Work with customers remotely or at customer site to test, configure and commission Siemens Energy products..
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in electrical, mechanical technology or adequate practical experience
- Proactive self-starter mentality - take direction and independently drive work forward—anticipating needs, not waiting for tasks, and continually improving lab/workspace tools processes.
- Experience with mechanical and electrical schematics.
- Ability to guide and train others in work or classroom setting.
- Experience or knowledge in high voltage equipment and testing, circuit breakers, energy or utility industry is also a plus.
