As an Industrial Cybersecurity Specialist, you will help protect Siemens Energy’s products, solutions, and customers by assessing cybersecurity risks, defining security standards, and recommending advanced security technologies for industrial environments. You will develop security concepts, support the implementation of proof-of-concept solutions, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen cybersecurity across the organization. This role combines expertise in industrial control systems, network security, and cybersecurity best practices within a global, multidisciplinary team.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Understand the energy threat landscape and security risk for Siemens Energy and our customers and provide advice and expert guidance to the business units.
- Evaluate the external cybersecurity service landscape and derive technical recommendations for Siemens Energy cybersecurity services.
- Define a technical security baseline for Siemens Energy portfolio, including recommendations such as network architecture, log collection and aggregation, user management, SIEM solutions, host-based protection measures, IDS, anomaly detection systems, etc.
- Support the development and documentation of security concepts and guidelines for our solutions.
- Practically implement proof-of-concepts of security technologies for the industrial domain.
- Collaborate with internal and external partners for security technology.
- Collaborate and teamwork with other security core team members.
- Develop through further professional cybersecurity training and certifications.
- Work with our global organization and the related complexity of cybersecurity requirements.
What You Bring
- Master's degree in computer science, industrial automation, cybersecurity, electronics, or related qualifications.
- Very good knowledge of industrial control system components and industrial protocols.
- Good knowledge of IT security technologies and principles (CIA principle, defense in depth, network zones, hardening, etc.).
- You have knowledge of network technologies (routing, monitoring, VLAN) and network security (TLS/SSL, IDS, firewalls).
- Experience with Windows and Linux operating systems (also on the command line).
- Knowledge of rules and regulations in the field of IT security (e.g., IEC 62443, ISO27001, NIST CSF) is a plus.
- As you will be working in an international environment, you will be fluent in German and English.
