Lead and coordinate all mechanical engineering activities for industrial gas turbine projects, ensuring technical compliance, quality, schedule, cost efficiency and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
Act as the primary technical focal point for mechanical scope within the project team and serve as the interface between engineering disciplines, project management, suppliers and customers.
How You’ll Make an Impact
Take overall technical ownership of the mechanical scope within gas turbine packaging projects. Lead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities related to mechanical systems. Define, monitor and manage engineering deliverables, schedules and technical risks. Organize engineering planning meetings and technical reviews. Ensure compliance with customer specifications, Siemens Energy standards and applicable international codes.
- Mechanical Engineering coordination includes
•Lead design and integration of:Gas turbine package layout ; Piping systems ;Fluid systems; Steel structures and platforms; Enclosures and auxiliary mechanical equipment ;Review and approve technical solutions, calculations and engineering documentation.
•Supplier & Manufacturing Support includes: Coordinate technical clarifications with suppliers; Support procurement activities and supplier qualification.
Participate in FAT and inspections.; Support manufacturing, assembly and testing activities.
- Customer Interface includes:
Act as primary mechanical technical contact towards customers, EPCs and engineering consultants.
Support technical discussions, deviation management and design reviews.
Present engineering solutions and risk assessments.
- Site & Commissioning Support includes:
Support installation, commissioning and troubleshooting activities.
Coordinate engineering responses to site issues.
Drive technical resolution of operational problems.
- Sales & Proposal Support includes:
Support bidding activities and technical proposal preparation.
Review customer specifications.
Identify technical risks and opportunities during tender phase.
What You Bring
•Bachelor degree or above in Mechanical engineering with emphasis on power generation is preferred.
•5+ years’ experience in Mechanical Engineering related to Power Plant or Chemical Plant
•Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of field of specialization and applies through successful completion of assignments. Successfully applies knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures of particular area of specialization.
•Self-motivated with strong customer focus
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
•Strong emphasis on quality of work and Siemens Energy values
•Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form in English and in Chinese and to interface with in a wide range of organizations both internally and externally.
•Experience in Power plant engineering or design institute engineering department is preferred
•Experience in Gas turbine OEM / Fluid system / Mechanical system manufacture is preferred.
