A Snapshot of Your Day

The primary objective of this role is to provide sustained market intelligence for the APAC region, enabling the team to effectively evaluate the sales pipeline and consolidate market updates.

This role is structured around 2 core areas: Market Intelligence & Analysis and Sales Pipeline & Strategy Support. This involves systematically gathering, analyzing, and reporting on market dynamics, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities across key markets like Taiwan, Japan, and Korea as well as rest of APAC.


How You’ll Make an Impact

60% Market Intelligence & Analysis

  • Conduct continuous market research in the APAC region (primarily Taiwan, Japan, Korea) to identify market trends, competitor strategies, and new business opportunities for offshore wind.
  • Consolidate and analyze market data to produce regular intelligence reports and updates for sales leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Evaluate regional market dynamics, including policy changes, pricing trends, and customer requirements, to inform business strategy.
  • Monitor and report on competitor activities and market share to maintain a competitive edge.

40% Sales Pipeline & Strategy Support

  • Support the evaluation of the sales pipeline by providing data-driven insights on market potential, project viability, and risk factors.
  • Collaborate with the Sales team to develop compelling value propositions also based on tender/auction requirements and identify regional opportunities based on market analysis
  • Assist in prioritizing and tracking business development initiatives within APAC.

What You Bring

Given the focus on data-driven sales support, the ideal candidate will possess strong experience in market research, sales analysis, and creation of Power Point presentations. Preferably within the energy or a related industrial sector. The ability to work independently and translate complex data into actionable business insights is essential for success.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in business development, market analysis, or a strategic planning role, typically gained over 2-5 years.
  • Experience in the energy, renewables, or heavy industrial sector is highly preferred.
  • Advanced power point skills.


About the Team

The Markets & Business Development team (MBD) is supporting Offshore Sales with market and business intelligence and transforms market insights into actionable strategies, prioritizing the right opportunities, and enabling SGRE to win profitable projects in both existing and emerging offshore wind markets.
MBD is sitting in Global Sales Operations and consists of 8 team members across 6 markets and supports our Customer Sales teams and have markets assigned to dedicated market leads supported by local Business Developers that drive regional market relations with associations, industries, ministries and customers.
We continuously monitor markets, customers, competitors, policy developments, and project activity across offshore wind regions and closely collaborate with other Offshore, Wind Power and Siemens Energy stakeholders in the respective markets to get a holistic understanding.
