As a Field Service Technician, you will work hands-on at customer sites, executing mechanical installation, maintenance, and repair activities on gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators. You will be part of an international field service team, ensuring safe execution, high-quality workmanship, and reliable operation of large rotating equipment. Each assignment brings new technical challenges, close collaboration with colleagues and customers, and the opportunity to contribute directly to the performance and availability of critical power generation assets. How You’ll Make an Impact Perform onsite mechanical installation, maintenance, and overhaul activities on gas turbines, steam turbines, and generators Diagnose and resolve mechanical issues using technical documentation, drawings, and service procedures Execute preventive maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment reliability and performance Work in strict compliance with EHS, quality standards, and site-specific safety procedures Document work performed and support accurate reporting during service activities Collaborate effectively within a multinational field service team and support knowledge sharing on site What You Bring Hands-on experience as a mechanical technician or fitter in an industrial or heavy equipment environment Experience with gas turbines, steam turbines, or generators is an advantage Ability to read, understand, and work with technical drawings and service documentation Working knowledge of English sufficient for technical communication and documentation Willingness to travel worldwide and work for extended periods away from home Strong commitment to Health, Safety, Quality, and teamwork in a multicultural environment
What You Need To Make a Difference
- 50% On-Site Technical Service & Maintenance
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve difficult and non-routine malfunctions in electromechanical systems and products at customer field locations.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, system calibrations, and configurations on installed equipment to ensure operational reliability.
- Install and commission new technical products and systems, interpreting engineering drawings and specifications to ensure proper setup.
- Assess equipment conditions to determine when products or components should be upgraded or replaced and execute the necessary work.
- 30% Operational Support & Leadership
- Provide on-site training to customer support personnel on product operation, basic maintenance, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Lead daily on-site operations in non-routine situations, delegating tasks and reviewing the work of lower-level employees or contractors.
- Ensure all field service activities adhere to company quality control standards, process improvement initiatives, and safety protocols.
- 20% Documentation & Customer Management
- Maintain strong customer relationships by providing effective technical support and clear communication throughout the service lifecycle.
- Create detailed and accurate service reports, investigation findings, and equipment maintenance logs for all completed field activities.
Certifications
- 10-Hour OSHA General Industry Card
Education
- Vocational training or an Associate's degree in Electromechanics, Electronics, or a related technical field.
- Extensive work experience as a Field Service Technician, demonstrating advanced knowledge of operational procedures and tools.
- Proven experience working with limited supervision on difficult and non-routine technical problems.
- Experience in training or delegating work to junior team members is highly desirable.
