A Snapshot of Your Day

This Installation Lead position is a role created to ensure sufficient project leadership capacity for offshore wind turbine preassembly and installation projects. The role is situated within the Execution team, specifically supporting the Preassembly and Ports function in Poland and France. To meet this objective, the role is structured around three core areas: on-site installation management, team leadership with a strong focus on safety, and technical quality assurance. This approach ensures that installation activities are not only executed efficiently and on schedule but also adhere to the highest standards of technical quality and safety compliance. Given the focus on leading on-site execution, the ideal candidate will possess extensive hands-on experience in wind turbine installation, complemented by a vocational or technical education. Proven abilities in team supervision, technical troubleshooting, and adherence to strict safety protocols are essential for success in this role.

How You'll Make An Impact

  • 50% On-Site Installation Management
    • Lead and oversee the daily on-site installation and preassembly of wind turbine components, ensuring adherence to project schedules and technical specifications.
    • Interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and installation manuals to guide the execution of work.
    • Coordinate logistics and resource allocation for installation activities, ensuring tools, equipment, and personnel are available as needed.
  • 30% Team Leadership and Safety Compliance
    • Supervise, train, and delegate tasks to a team of installation technicians, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
    • Enforce strict adherence to all Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures on the project site.
    • Conduct daily safety briefings (toolbox talks), risk assessments, and ensure the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • 20% Technical Oversight and Quality Assurance
    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve non-routine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues encountered during the installation process.
    • Perform and document quality control checks and system tests to verify that installation work meets engineering standards and quality requirements.
    • Prepare and submit detailed daily progress reports, installation logs, and incident reports to project management.

What You Bring

  • Global Wind Organisation (GWO) Basic Safety Training (BST)
  • Relevant technical certifications for high voltage or hydraulic systems are advantageous
  • Vocational degree or technical diploma in a relevant field such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related trade.
  • Extensive (typically 5+ years) hands-on experience in the installation and commissioning of wind turbines, preferably in an offshore environment.
  • Demonstrated experience in a lead technician or supervisory role, responsible for guiding a team.
