A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Project Director Building Solutions (f/m/d) within the Real Estate Project Management team, this position is pivotal for the successful execution of strategic capital expenditure projects. To meet these objectives, the role is structured around four core areas: comprehensive project leadership from inception to completion, strategic team and stakeholder management, rigorous governance and risk oversight, and driving innovation through sustainability and digitalization. This framework ensures that all project activities align with both immediate delivery targets and long-term business goals.

How You’ll Make an Impact

End-to-End Project Leadership & Execution

  • Lead and manage major, complex construction projects for industrial facilities from initial planning and design through to final completion and handover.
  • Oversee the entire project lifecycle, including scope definition, setup, tendering, contractor selection, execution, and progress monitoring.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within the approved budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Manage project cost analyses and control CAPEX drivers throughout the project.

Team & Stakeholder Management

  • Build, lead, and guide high-performing project teams, clearly communicating goals, timelines, and strategic objectives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all project-related matters, collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide transparent, regular project updates and reports to senior management and other key partners.
  • Coach, review, and delegate work to lower-level professionals and support staff within the project team.

Governance, Risk & Quality Management

  • Ensure all project activities adhere strictly to Siemens Energy standards, legal requirements, and local building regulations in Austria.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, including safety, financial, and operational hazards.
  • Implement and enforce robust quality assurance and control standards throughout all project phases.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation for compliance, auditing, and knowledge transfer.

Strategic Contribution & Process Improvement

  • Promote and implement digitalization and automation by utilizing digital project management tools to enhance reporting and efficiency.
  • Champion sustainability by supporting energy-efficient designs and green building initiatives in line with corporate goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement within project management processes, sharing lessons learned and best practices across the Real Estate community.

What You Bring

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, MEP Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
  • Long-term experience managing large-scale construction projects for industrial facilities, ideally in international and multicultural environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing large, complex projects with limited oversight, consistent with a Specialist Professional (P4) level.
  • Proven expertise in project and construction management, including CAPEX planning and control, risk management, contractor selection and oversight, and effective project scheduling to ensure successful delivery.
  • Sound technical knowledge in industrial facility design, civil engineering principles, sustainability practices in construction, and the effective use of digital construction tools to support efficient and innovative project delivery.
  • Effective leadership and communication capabilities, including stakeholder management, strategic communication, and negotiation skills to influence outcomes and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
