A Snapshot of The Day

In this role, you will commission and test HVDC systems across international project sites, ensuring technically flawless delivery of control, protection, and power systems. You will execute integration, functional, and performance testing in factories and on site, support quality and risk management, and collaborate closely with project and engineering teams to deliver reliable, high‑performance HVDC solutions worldwide.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Technically flawless commissioning of HVDC systems on site in due time, including testing of associated HV primary components and secondary systems.
  • Integration test and functional testing of HVDC control technology (Control & Protection hardware and software) in our test center in Germany
  • Execution and documentation of Functional Performance Tests (FPT) and Dynamic Performance Tests (DPT) of our C&P Hardware and Software including Customer Acceptance Tests
  • Preparation of testing procedures and test programs for the C&P Hardware, including the necessary verification documentation
  • Planning, execution, and evaluation of workshop tests (factory acceptance tests) at sub-supplier’s factory
  • Support of Commissioning Management in Quality, Risk and Claim Management
  • Participation in improvement programs (e.g. Lean, Reviews and Lessons Learned)

What You Bring

  • Completed studies in electrical engineering, energy technology or comparable education / qualification
  • Working experience in the area of Electrical Engineering and Commissioning of Electrical Power Stations would be of advantage
  • Good knowledge in one or more of the following areas: project planning and testing via MATLAB/SIMULINK, Siemens SIMATIC TDC/S7, CFC, grid protection systems / protection relays & BCUs (DIGSI / SIPROTEC V4/5)
  • Knowledge or experience in the field of HVDC systems, particularly in High Voltage Transmission Technology, Control, Measurement, Protection, and Communication Systems
  • Good knowledge in Current- and Voltage Measuring devices and other primary equipment as well as network protection, C&P systems and other secondary systems
  • Fluent English language skills, further language skills are very welcome
  • Willingness for worldwide business trips and mainly long-term assignments on construction sites in Germany and abroad, as well as optional assignments on offshore platforms
  • Team player, communicative, proactive, positive handling of conflicts, decision-making capability
