About the Role
Snapshot of Your Day:
We are looking for a Control Systems Engineer in Orlando, FL to coordinate and support multiple disciplines to ensure functional designs are consistent for implementation of controls concepts.
How You’ll Make an Impact:
- Execute specifications, bid reviews, control logic design, and documentation reviews for project specific procured components like control system hardware specification, vibration monitoring equipment, speed sensors, combustion dynamics monitoring equipment, and others.
- Perform complex design, development, testing (hardware and software) and modifications of solutions using Siemens Energy Omnivise T3000 software programming.
- Handle turbine core, operation of the turbine, and mechanical packages that make up the overall turbine package and support sites through commissioning.
- Interface with external and internal customers on the design of the control system to ensure acceptance of the delivered product.
- Provide engineering estimates for additional work requests including both hardware and manhour impacts or for overall projects being proposed or modifications to existing projects.
- Support other activities as required to ensure high performance of the team.
- Document and communicate lessons learned and potential cost improvement ideas with the research & design and customer order engineering teams.
- 20% domestic/international travel required.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related field and 8 years of experience.
- Full term of experience must include: execution of gas and steam turbine projects including mechanical (dimensional drawings), electrical (single and three lines electrical drawings), process engineering (P&IDs) and automation engineering (software programming skills, testing and simulation);
- Hardware design of control system cabinets for conducting engineering specifications;
- Analyzing technical proposals from sub-suppliers;
- Software programming and testing of control system cabinets;
- Programming tools such as Siemens Energy T3000, PCS 7, and TIA portal;
- Device configuration like vibration monitoring system, overspeed protection, network devices; and
- Simulation testing of elaborated project specific software programming for large gas and steam turbines and software customer witness testing.
- 20% domestic/international travel required.
