A Snapshot of Your Day

This role is established to provide dedicated leadership for the Digital Products & Solutions (DPS) software development hub in India, which has grown to over 250 employees across multiple locations including Gurgaon, Pune, and Bangalore. The position is critical for building cohesive organizational structures and fostering a unified hub culture to support current scale and future growth. To achieve these business aims, this role definition concentrates on three core pillars: Strategic Hub Leadership & Culture Development, Operational & Organizational Management, and People & Talent Management. These areas cover the strategic direction, the structural and process framework, and the leadership required to manage and grow the multi-location hub effectively. Given the focus on leading a large, multi-team local organization, the ideal candidate will be a senior manager with extensive experience in scaling software engineering organizations. Essential requirements include strategic leadership, strong multi-site operational management skills, and a proven ability to cultivate culture within a global corporate environment.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Strategic Hub Leadership & Culture Development
    • Define and execute a short to mid-term (1-3 year) strategy for the India Hub, ensuring alignment with global Digital Products & Solutions (DPS) objectives.
    • Establish and cultivate a distinct local hub identity and culture that promotes innovation, collaboration, and high performance across all India locations.
    • Act as the primary local representative and voice for the India Hub, communicating vision, strategy, and progress to executive leadership and global stakeholders.
    • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the hub to enhance operational efficiency, engineering excellence, and overall productivity.
  • Operational & Organizational Management
    • Design and implement operational structures, governance models, and scalable processes across multiple hub locations (Gurgaon, Pune, Bangalore) to effectively manage a growing organization of 250+ personnel.
    • Oversee the hub's budget, resource allocation, and financial planning in collaboration with global and local finance and HR partners.
    • Ensure all hub operations comply with local regulations and Siemens Energy corporate policies.
    • Serve as the senior point of contact for cross-functional collaboration with local site management, IT, HR, and other support functions to ensure seamless operations.
  • People & Talent Management
    • Provide senior leadership to a department of multiple software development teams, including the management of subordinate Team Leaders and Managers across all locations.
    • Champion comprehensive talent management strategies for the hub, including performance management, career development, and succession planning.
    • Foster an inclusive, engaging, and high-retention work environment to attract and motivate top-tier engineering talent in a competitive market.
    • Resolve complex organizational and personnel issues, leveraging influence to guide the department through change and maintain alignment with strategic goals.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • Extensive experience (12+ years) in software development and engineering within a large-scale, global organization.
