A Summary of your day

This role is a replacement to ensure business continuity within the Engineering team for Controls & Digitalization in Latin America, supporting Siemens Energy's Gas Services division. The position is critical for maintaining operational stability and service delivery for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems. To meet these objectives, the role is structured around three core areas: Control Systems Engineering & Design, focusing on the development and implementation of I&C solutions including excitation systems; Operational Support & Troubleshooting, dedicated to maintaining and resolving issues in existing systems; and Project Execution & Documentation, ensuring professional standards and customer-focused project deliverables are met. Given the focus on these areas, the ideal candidate will be an experienced professional with a degree in Electrical or Control Engineering. They must possess practical experience in designing and troubleshooting industrial control systems such as PLCs, SCADA, and DCS, and be capable of working independently with general supervision to deliver the best solutions for customer needs.

What You Need To Make a Difference

  • 50% Control Systems Engineering & Design
    • Design and develop electrical, instrumentation, and control (I&C) system solutions based on project specifications.
    • Engineer and configure Siemens Energy excitation systems and related software to meet specific customer requirements.
    • Create, review, and modify system design documentation, including electrical schematics and P&IDs, using tools like AutoCAD.
    • Configure, program, and test Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), Distributed Control Systems (DCS), and SCADA systems.
    • Develop and implement Human Machine Interfaces (HMIs) for intuitive system operation and monitoring.
  • 30% Operational Support & Troubleshooting
    • Provide technical support and perform troubleshooting for installed control systems to resolve operational issues.
    • Conduct root cause analysis for system failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
    • Support the commissioning, startup, and testing of new or upgraded control systems, either remotely or on-site.
    • Perform maintenance and system health checks on electrical and control equipment to ensure reliability and performance.
  • 20% Project Execution & Documentation
    • Manage assigned engineering tasks to meet project timelines, budget, and quality standards.
    • Prepare and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including service reports, system manuals, and as-built drawings.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Field Service and Project Management, to ensure successful project delivery and meet customer needs.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Control and Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Typically requires 2-5 years of experience in the design, implementation, and maintenance of industrial control systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with PLC, DCS, and SCADA platforms is essential.
