Snapshot of your day
As a Field Service Engineer, you provide essential technical support to service teams, customers, and project managers across ongoing projects. The role involves supporting complex automation and control systems, including maintaining oversight of software patch levels to ensure compliance with cybersecurity and customer requirements.

You will also contribute to maritime automation and control system projects, ensuring that systems are configured and maintained in line with industry cybersecurity expectations for vessel operations. Through this work, you help ensure reliable system performance, safe operation, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

How you’ll make a difference

  • Support and execute engineering activities for Integrated Control and Safety Systems (ICSS) across upgrade, modification and commissioning projects.
  • Perform system-level troubleshooting, diagnostics, and issue resolution on ICSS systems.
  • Manage system configurations, backups, version control, and documentation for ICSS systems.
  • Perform system patch management, including planning, testing, validating, and deploying software updates and security patches on ICSS systems.
  • Support maritime automation and control system projects, including compliance with relevant cybersecurity requirements for vessel systems.
  • Prepare and execute site work, including FAT, SAT, commissioning, and maintenance activities, both on- and offshore.
  • Collaborate closely with SW, HW, and Electro engineering resources in interdisciplinary tasks.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation, Cybernetics, Computer Science, or similar.
  • Extensive handson experience within automation/ICSS may substitute for academic qualifications.
  • Good understanding of control system architecture, network topology, protocols, and system interactions.
  • Knowledge of safety systems (SIS), redundancy concepts, and industry safety standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across software, hardware, and system integrations.
  • Experience with commissioning, testing procedures, and field service work is an advantage.
  • Fluent English, written and orally. Norwegian is a big advantage.
