Position Title: Technical Project Manager

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Technical Project Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end execution of Grid Technologies projects across Southern and Eastern Africa. You will act as the single point of contact for customers, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

You will lead cross-functional teams and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive project success while maintaining strong customer relationships.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Manage the full lifecycle of transmission and substation projects, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and according to technical specifications
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers across all project-related matters
  • Monitor and drive key performance indicators, including revenue, gross margin, reliability, and customer satisfaction
  • Identify resource requirements and ensure appropriate allocation throughout the project lifecycle
  • Build and lead project teams, assigning responsibilities and ensuring effective collaboration
  • Plan, schedule, and execute outages in coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders
  • Manage logistics, including parts delivery, and identify upsell opportunities where applicable
  • Implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity
  • Maintain project documentation in line with quality management standards
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships
  • Promote a strong safety culture and drive zero-harm initiatives across all project activities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by providing feedback on processes and cost optimization

What You Bring

  • National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management within the energy transmission sector
  • Proven experience managing technical, financial, and contractual aspects of projects
  • Mandatory experience in transformer and switchgear projects
  • Strong understanding of transmission and substation projects
  • Ability to manage projects across Southern and Eastern Africa
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multicultural environments
  • Fluency in English
  • Flexibility and willingness to travel during project execution
