About the Role
Role Purpose
Join us as you interpret electrical and mechanical drawings, translating them into high-quality digital asset data that maintains a robust digital twin of gas turbine supporting equipment. This role is essential for underpinning engineering, maintenance, and service operations by creating and governing structured master data, including asset hierarchies, equipment records, BOMs, documents, and configurations across ERP and PLM systems. You will ensure that the “as-maintained” equipment is complete, consistent, and traceable.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret, analyze, and verify electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, and mechanical drawings (e.g., layouts, assemblies, and interfaces), converting them into structured digital records for the digital twin.
- Process engineering changes and updates to reflect electrical and mechanical modifications, ensuring accuracy, currency, and effective change control in as-built/as-maintained structures.
- Liaise with electrical and mechanical engineering, manufacturing, site technicians, and data teams to reconcile discrepancies between drawings, physical assets, and system records (ERP/PLM), driving right-first-time data quality.
- Maintain high data integrity, ensuring electro-mechanical information (structures, BOMs, attributes, and documents) is structured consistently for downstream use (maintenance plans, spares, work orders, analytics) and supports integration between the digital twin, ERP, and PLM.
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and verify complex electrical schematics and mechanical drawings (e.g., assemblies, layouts, and P&IDs).
- Knowledge of gas turbine electrical and mechanical systems, including control circuits, sensors, instrumentation, starters, power distribution, and supporting mechanical auxiliaries (e.g., pumps, valves, piping, lubrication, and cooling systems) is desirable but not essential.
- Experience working in electrical, mechanical, instrumentation, manufacturing, or maintenance environments.
- Confidence working with digital engineering/asset systems such as ERP and PLM (or equivalent), including document control, equipment master data, asset hierarchies, and BOM management.
- Understanding of digital twin principles and configuration management concepts (as-designed vs. as-built vs. as-maintained, versioning, effectivity, and traceability).
- Strong data quality mindset: ability to validate, reconcile, and cleanse technical data, apply standards, and manage exceptions through to closure.
- High attention to detail and accuracy when recording technical information.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline preferred, but HNC, HND, NVQ, or equivalent will also be considered.
Personal Attributes
- Methodical and detail-focused approach to documentation
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining alignment with engineering standards.
- Proactive mindset with a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.
