A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Bid Manager, you will lead the development of technical and commercial proposals for new equipment, serving as the key interface between Sales and Operations. Your day involves interpreting client requirements, defining technical solutions, coordinating with Engineering and Supply Chain, and preparing high‑quality proposals that position Siemens Energy competitively. You will help shape winning strategies that support the growth of our reciprocating compressor business across emerging and traditional markets.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Review and interpret client RFQs and specifications for reciprocating compressor applications across hydrogen, decarbonization, and traditional oil & gas markets.
  • Develop equipment selections using Siemens Energy tools and industry‑standard software to define optimized technical solutions.
  • Contribute to bid strategy discussions by highlighting technical advantages and value propositions of Siemens Energy offerings.
  • Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to consolidate project details, cost estimates, and schedule inputs.
  • Ensure proposals meet Siemens Energy standards for accuracy, completeness, quality, and timeliness.
  • Coordinate and participate in client clarification meetings, internal kickoffs, and technical presentations.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Petrochemical, or Chemical Engineering—or equivalent experience—with 4+ years in a relevant engineering or applications role.
  • Background in reciprocating or rotating equipment (e.g., reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, steam turbines) through roles such as Application, Process, Design, Project, Maintenance, or Field Engineer.
  • Strong problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work effectively in a global, collaborative environment with strong customer focus.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% globally for presentations, clarifications, training, and kickoff meetings.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering software; knowledge of pricing, costing, bidding, or coding is a plus.

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer‑sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
