About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
This role focuses on two core areas: advanced Power System Analysis & Simulation and the development of specialized Technical Solutions. This structure ensures the delivery of comprehensive technical studies and strategic advice to transmission operators, utilities, and developers. Given the focus on complex technical challenges, the ideal candidate will be a Senior Professional with significant experience in power system simulation tools (e.g., PSS/E, PSCAD, TARA, TSAT, Power Factory) and a deep understanding of grid codes and renewable energy integration
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Perform advanced power system studiesincluding load flow, dynamic and voltage stability, short‑circuit, and protection coordination analysesusing industry‑standard simulation tools.
- Develop, validate, and execute detailed system models in PSS/E, PSCAD/EMTDC, and DigSilent PowerFactory to support grid interconnection, harmonic, TRV, and transient studies.
- Lead consulting projects by managing scope, schedules, and deliverables while presenting technical findings and recommendations to clients and key stakeholders.
- Provide expert guidance on integrating HVDC, FACTS, renewable energy systems, and energy storage into transmission networks in compliance with grid codes.
- Support conceptual design and analysis of industrial power supply systems, assessing their impacts on overall grid performance and reliability.
- Enhance analysis efficiency by developing automated scripts and modeling tools using programming languages such as Python and MATLAB.
.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master’s or Ph.D. degree is preferred. Must be Bilingual English Spanish
- 5 to 8 years of experience conducting power system analysis in steady-state and transient states.
- Experience in transmission planning, operating studies (100 kV - 765 kV), and power system performance analyses.
- Demonstrated experience working and communicating with system operators (ISO/TSO), utilities, and developers
- Skilled in steady‑state and dynamic power system analysis, grid code compliance, renewable energy integration, EMT studies, and the application of advanced power electronics technologies including HVDC and FACTS.
- Proficient in power system modeling and simulation using PSS/E, PSCAD/EMTDC, and DigSilent PowerFactory, with strong programming capabilities in Python and MATLAB to enhance analytical efficiency.
