A Snapshot of Your Day
In the department of Engineering, we are responsible for technical design of high voltage projects. The BIM Engineer Drafter is responsible for the projections of the different substation arrangements, layouts and drawings, also will support the managing of the engineering projects thru BIM 360, connecting, centralizing documents and 3D models to agile the collaboration, reduce risks, errors and construction costs.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Develop/draft main one line and station auxiliary one-line diagrams.
- Develop 3D models (such as trench and conduit designs, grounding, general arrangement, layout and elevation drawings) for substations and FACTS (STATCOMs and Synchon) projects using Revit.
- Develop Model Coordination and Clash Detection using Revit, Navisworks and/or BIM360/ACC
- Develop equipment families to feed the 3D modelling Revit and Autocad database, and support the maintenance of the templates.
- Support performing cable ampacity, grounding, lightning, illumination, and station auxiliary load calculations.
- Support review manufacturer's documentation.
- Support authoring equipment specifications and detail bill of materials.
What You Bring
- University Degree in electrical engineering (preferred), mechanical engineering and other disciplines can be accepted also prior review of applicant experience.
- Knowledge of ANSI standards is preferable. IEC standards knowledge is a plus, NOM is acceptable
- Experience with equipment typically used in substations is a plus
- Proficiency with Revit and Navisworks
- Proficiency with Autocad, Micro-Station, BIM360/ACC, Inventor are a plus
- Fluent English Language, Good communication skills, teamwork and self-driven
