No two days are the same for a Master and Reference Data Specialist at Siemens Energy. You may be preparing presentations for key stakeholders, advising business teams on documenting critical master data, auditing data used in business processes, or contributing to the design of automated master and reference data management solutions.

Your work will directly support global decarbonization efforts and strengthen energy security worldwide, and you’ll be working with some of the most advance data governance leaders in the world.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Provide consulting support to data roles in the business,
• Document their master & reference data in the Data Catalog, including metadata, definitions, and relationships, ensuring it is complete, accurate, and aligned to the company’s enterprise process for data governance.
• Align M&R data across consuming systems, ensuring mappings are consistent, standards are applied, and conflict resolution (match/merge/survivorship) rules are created where needed.
• Identify and document data lineage, mapping the flow of data from creation to consumption and triggering application metadata to be added to the Data Catalog when missing
• Audit the management of master data objects, used in business processes
• Support the creation and maintenance of processes for data insertion, update, deletion, retention, and audit/version control; provide approvals to formal documentation of data lifecycle management.
• Consult to the organization’s large digital transformation programmes, contribute to the automation of master and reference data management
• Support the design of master and reference data processes that are being developed as part of the company’s digitalization agenda, particularly the implementation of a single S4 Hana ecosystem across the enterprise.

What You bring - Your Skills and Capabilities

• University degree in any discipline

• 10+ years' experience working in Data Governance in a large, global organization, driving Master Data Management within a complex data landscape, and preferably with SAP experience.

• Experience operationalizing both master data management solutions such as SAP MDG, and data governance solutions; preference given to experience operationalizing the Collibra Data Catalog. Exposure to Data Quality tools a bonus.

• Excellent communicator, able to explain data governance concepts with clear examples that bring the concept to life and facilitate the enablement of data governance roles

• Specialist in designing and implementing Master Data Management; also with experience and understanding of Data Accountability, Data Quality Management, Metadata Management, Enterprise Data architecture and Data Security practices.

• Proactive to reach out and work with the data governance roles to support their goals and deliver their data initiatives

• Proven track record of operating within large data governance programs, with expert understanding of existing data management frameworks and best practice

Within Digital Core, our Data Governance team is a center of excellence that enables the organization to discover, access and use harmonized, high quality data in service of the Siemen’s Energy mission. We partner with the business to support them as they build strong foundations using policy, process and technology provided by our team.
