A DevOps Engineer in the Substation Automation Platform focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting Linux‑based systems across physical and virtual environments while designing and operating CI/CD pipelines that ensure smooth, automated deployments. It also involves close collaboration with cross‑functional teams to deliver secure, reliable solutions aligned with grid‑automation and cybersecurity standards, contributing to customer training, documentation, and continuous improvement of new and existing systems.

How You’ll Make an Impact
- Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot Linux systems across physical and virtual environments to ensure stable platform performance.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to automate deployment, updates, and configuration management.
- Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code to deliver scalable, repeatable, and reliable SAS platform environments.
- Design and maintain disaster recovery concepts and implementations for virtualized infrastructures.
- Automate recurring administration tasks using scripting to improve efficiency and reduce operational risk.
- Collaborate across engineering, cybersecurity, and project teams to deliver secure, compliant, and integrated SAS/power automation solutions, including documentation, customer training, and support.
What You Bring
- Degree in Computer Science/IT/Engineering (or similar) and solid, long-term experience running production IT infrastructure (ideally in energy/utilities/industrial automation).
- Strong GNU/Linux administration and troubleshooting skills (Ubuntu/Debian and CentOS/RHEL).
- Scripting capability (e.g., Bash and/or Python) to automate operational tasks.
- Hands-on experience with virtualization and modern platforms: KVM/QEMU/VMware, containers (Docker/Podman), and orchestration (Kubernetes/OpenShift).
- Working knowledge of core networking (IPv4/IPv6, routing, firewalls, VPNs, VLANs) plus observability tools (Grafana/Prometheus, Elastic/Kibana).
- DevOps toolchain experience (Git, Jenkins, Ansible and similar) and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation), paired with strong communication skills, fluent English (German a plus), and a learning mindset in automation domains.
