A Snapshot of Your Day

Your day begins by reviewing new feature requirements and updating automated test scripts to reflect the latest changes. You sync with software developers to clarify technical details and ensure test coverage for critical modules. Before lunch, you execute automated test suites, analyze results, and report defects using Solution Manager or equivalent tools. In the afternoon, you participate in sprint planning, refine test data management strategies, and contribute to functional and quality reviews. You close the day by optimizing test automation frameworks and sharing insights with the team to drive continuous improvement.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop, maintain, and execute automated test scripts for substation automation software, covering key functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Partner with functional teams to define test scenarios, prepare test data, and document detailed execution steps.
  • Integrate automation into CI/CD pipelines and support on-demand test cycles for rapid validation.
  • Monitor and report script development/execution status in Solution Manager and related tools; present results to stakeholders (including live demos).
  • Analyze failures, log defects, coordinate resolution with development teams, and manage retesting to closure.
  • Evolve automation capability by improving frameworks (e.g., TOSCA/Worksoft), supporting tool setup/configuration/licensing, contributing to automation standards/handbooks, and mentoring team members.


What You Bring

  • Long-term hands-on experience in test automation for industrial or grid automation software projects.
  • Strong proficiency with automation tools/frameworks (TOSCA, Worksoft, or similar), scripting, and CI/CD integration.
  • Domain understanding of substation automation and grid technologies; protocols such as IEC 61850, IEC 104, and DNP3 are a strong plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; proven ability to coordinate across automation, development, and functional teams.
  • Experience with test dashboards/reporting and data-driven optimization of coverage and efficiency.
  • Familiarity with agile delivery and structured governance (e.g., sprint rituals, quality reviews, PLM stage-gates); fluent English (German a plus).
