A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Senior Procurement Professional, you will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies for assigned commodities and projects. You will play a critical role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, directly contributing to project success and overall business objectives. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex supplier relationships. Your primary responsibilities will involve the entire procurement lifecycle, from sourcing and supplier selection to contract negotiation and performance management. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, including Project Management, Engineering, and Planning, to align procurement activities with project timelines and technical specifications. A key aspect of this role is to proactively identify and mitigate supply chain risks while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and ethical standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in a project-based procurement environment, demonstrating a proven ability to manage multiple commodities and suppliers simultaneously. You are a skilled negotiator and a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills. A passion for supplier development and continuous process improvement is essential for success in this strategic role..

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies for allocated commodities and projects to achieve cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  • Lead the supplier selection process, including issuing Requests for Quotations (RFQs), evaluating proposals, and conducting supplier assessments.
  • Act as a commodity leader, maintaining in-depth market knowledge and driving strategic sourcing initiatives.
  • Actively supports the tendering process to ensure competitiveness and compliance of supply chain offers.
  • Major Focus will be on RE Procurement for India and Asia Pacific as extended role.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure favorable agreements in line with project budgets and risk criteria.
  • Build, manage, and develop strong, long-term relationships with key suppliers.
  • Monitor supplier performance against contractual obligations, focusing on quality, delivery, and overall service.
  • Administer contracts throughout their lifecycle, ensuring all terms and conditions are met.
  • Collaborate with internal partners, including Project Management, Engineering, and Planning, to ensure procurement activities align with project deliverables.
  • Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate potential supply chain risks to prevent disruptions.
  • Ensure all procurement activities adhere to company policies and industry standards for quality, health, and safety.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a strategic or project-based procurement role, which can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Strategic Sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management, Contract Management, Negotiation, Risk Management, Commodity Management, Stakeholder Management, Project Management Principles, Procurement Software, ERP Systems (e.g., SAP), MS Office Suite.

Certifications

  • CIPS Level 4 Diploma (or commitment to achieve)
  • Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM)
