About the Role
A Snapshot of Your Day
This role is being added to the Process & Tool Transformation team to address the business need of reducing engineering process time and lead time by driving the adoption of Artificial Intelligence. You will be a subject matter expert focused on transforming the Engineer-to-Order (ETO) processes for Medium Power Transformers. The role will focus on three core areas: identifying and prioritizing high-value AI use cases within the ETO environment, leading the end-to-end implementation and integration of AI solutions into existing engineering workflows, and ensuring all initiatives comply with corporate AI governance standards while driving user adoption across multiple factory sites.
Given the focus on AI-driven process transformation, you need a strong background in engineering or a related technical field, combined with proven experience in implementing digital or AI solutions. Critical requirements include strong project management, process analysis, and stakeholder influencing skills to successfully embed innovation within a complex, multi-site engineering organization.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- AI Strategy & Use Case Development (around 40%)
- Identify and prioritize AI use cases that improve engineering efficiency, quality, and throughput in a high-customization Engineer-to-Order (ETO) environment.
- Translate complex engineering and process challenges into structured, actionable digital concepts and AI solution paths.
- Assess technical feasibility, evaluate data availability, and define success metrics for proposed AI initiatives.
- Collaborate with engineering teams across multiple sites to discover and validate high-value opportunities for AI integration.
- AI Project Implementation & Integration (around 40%)
- Coordinate and lead AI initiatives through all phases, from discovery and Proof of Concept (PoC) to pilot and scaled deployment.
- Integrate AI tools, copilots, and automations into existing engineering toolchains, including PLM, CAD, and ERP systems.
- Steer PoCs and pilots toward value-generating outcomes that align with business objectives for lead time reduction and standardization.
- Decompose complex technical and process challenges into manageable steps to ensure structured project delivery.
- Stakeholder Management & Governance (around 20%)
- Foster alignment and drive communication across engineering, digitalization, IT, PLM, and site functions to ensure seamless integration.
- Lead proactive change management to ensure successful adoption of new AI tools and processes across the factory cluster.
- Ensure all AI initiatives adhere to Siemens Energy’s Responsible AI framework, including risk assessments and governance reviews.
- Promote knowledge sharing, harmonization, and cross-site collaboration to build an engineering culture that embraces digital innovation.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Applied AI, or a related technical field.
- Solid professional experience in engineering, digitalization, or implementing data/AI solutions, ideally within an Engineer-to-Order (ETO) or high-customization industrial environment.
- Proven track record in project or program management, including selecting, implementing, and scaling digital solutions across multiple sites or global stakeholders.
