A Snapshot of Your Day
- Analysis of gas turbine thermodynamic cycles to recommend better solutions.
- Co-ordinate across engineering organizations to share lessons learned and improve the competitiveness of our gas turbine products
- Assist in new and service frame research and development programs (R&D).
- Evaluation of field performance data in accordance with ASME Test Codes.
- Creation of specifications and technical documents; participation in technical reviews. Assist in identifying performance improvements.
- Develop and maintain R&D projects, including managing budget, milestones and resources.
- Investigate how probabilistic and data analytics can optimize performance. Research methods to achieve engine fleet scatter reduction.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field
- 5+ years’ experience including engine thermodynamics and aerodynamics, gas turbine analysis/engine cycle simulations.
- Proficient in research and development of gas turbine engines, including thermal performance analysis (overall and component analysis), as well as operation, testing and diagnostics.
- Skilled in interpreting data and test results; meticulous, analytical and organized.
- Assertive, self-motivated and focused on results. Able to detect complex issues and offer solutions. Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Project management experience and knowledge of project management software are desirable.
- Experience with Siemens thermal performance modeling software, Siemens large gas turbines preferred.
