A Snapshot of Your Day
The EHS Officer supports Siemens Energy’s commitment to Zero Harm by providing competent EHS advice, leadership, and governance across assigned Oil & Gas Operations & Maintenance sites in India.
The role ensures the effective implementation of Siemens Energy EHS strategies, management systems, and statutory requirements, with a strong focus on risk identification, mitigation, monitoring, and continuous improvement during O &M of Reciprocating Gas Compressors and associated systems.
How You’ll Make an Impact
? Provide competent EHS advice and action plans to ensure compliance with Siemens Energy EHS standards and client requirements.
? Act as a key advisor to management on EHS governance, compliance, and risk management across assigned sites.
? Support implementation and continual improvement of EHS strategies, procedures, and objectives.
? Drive effective deployment of corporate and regional EHS strategies in line with applicable legislation.
? Promote a culture of continuous improvement, proactive risk management, and visible safety leadership.
? Identify, assess, and communicate environmental aspects, occupational health impacts, and site-specific hazards.
? Provide practical on-site support to mitigate high-risk activities through regular site visits.
? Review and strengthen SWMS, Risk Assessments, JSA, LMRA, and Method Statements to ensure effective controls.
? Monitor, measure, and transparently report EHS performance, trends, and improvement actions to management.
? Ensure structured investigation and root cause analysis of incidents, near misses, and occupational illnesses.
? Maintain statutory reporting and ensure compliance with legal timelines and regulatory requirements.
? Control and maintain EHS documentation including policies, permits, SDS, training records, and ISO records (ISO 45001:2018, ISO 9001:2015).
? Deliver effective EHS training and ensure contractor competency in line with company standards.
? Support contractor selection, evaluation, and performance monitoring including penalty and incentive systems.
? Ensure availability, suitability, and compliance of PPE for employees, contractors, and visitors across sites.
What You Bring
- 10–12 years of progressive experience in EHS roles
- Proven experience in Oil & Gas industry, preferably in Operations & Maintenance of Reciprocating Gas Compressors / Turbomachinery
- Competencies & Skills
- Strong knowledge of Oil & Gas EHS legislation like OISD, DGMS, OMR and operational risk management
- Hands-on experience with PTW, LOTO, Isolation, Electrical Safety, Working at Height, Confined Space Entry, and Lifting Operations
- Excellent incident investigation and risk assessment capability
- Strong communication, influencing, and leadership skills
- Ability to work independently at remote or operational client sites across India
- Familiar with O&G industry best practices in EHS
Education
- Degree or recognized Diploma in Engineering or Science (Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics) AND
- Degree or recognized Diploma in Industrial Safety from a State Technical Board or Government-recognized institution
Certifications
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC)
- IOSH- Managing Safely
- ISO45001:2018 Internal Auditor
IT Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Knowledge of EHS software, data analytics (Power BI, Tableau), and advanced Excel
- Knowledge of SAP will be an added advantage
