We are currently looking for a Field Resource Manager (FRM) to join our Service team based in United Kingdom, who will manage a portion of the UK based Offshore Travelling Technician pool alongside other Field Resource Managers.
Some of your key tasks will include but not be limited to:
Responsible for the line management, planning and deployment of a team of circa 40 highly skilled wind turbine technicians to operational offshore windfarms throughout the UK and Europe
Promoting the #ZeroHarm Safety Culture within the team to drive positive safety performance
Working closely with the planning and operational teams to develop a robust resource plan for the annual service campaigns and communicate this to technicians
Ongoing engagement with operations and planning to ensure that resource is deployed to the right locations in the right timeframes and any changes required to the plan are implemented
All line management responsibility for the technicians including supporting their personal development, target setting, performance management / annual appraisals and one to ones
Leading recruitment, assessments & interviews, hiring and onboarding of all Technicians into the team
Ensuring technicians have the correct competencies and training to work on the newest Windfarms and implement upskill/crosskill plans where needed
Support Resource Management and Planning functions in developing the longer-term strategy for the team, ensuring we have the correct quantity and competencies for upcoming projects and campaigns
Working closely with operational sites to monitor performance and where necessary address any issues
Building productive relationships with operational sites and other key stakeholders to understand their needs an deliver a high-quality service
Having a regular presence on operational sites to develop relationships with both technicians and site teams
Responsible for international deployments of the Technicians, taking care of legal, social and immigration documentation and application requirements (Visa applications, Tax declarations, etc,)
Proactive two-way communication with a remote team of technicians to ensure they are kept informed and engaged
Ensuring that all technician administrative tasks are completed correctly and in the expected manner, using your resource coordinator to ensure this is happening correctly
Responsibility for managing the budget for the cost centre to ensure accurate cost and expense control; recovery revenue; and meeting target levels of productivity for the financial year
Working with the finance team on cost saving measures initiated either by yourself or the finance team
Arranging and delivering Operational Excellence events applicable for the Travelling Technician pool
What you need to make a difference
Passion for renewable energy and a sense for the importance to lead the change. We are also looking for…
Past line management experience ideally in an operational, planning or resource management background
Strong people leadership attributes, professional attitude to work and an ability to cope in a dynamic environment
Confidence to be able to stand up in front of a large group of Technicians and deliver engaging presentations and communicate effective messages
Ability to build relationships with and influence remote stakeholders
Ability to think creatively and solve problems in a fast paced ever changing environment
Proficient IT skills to effectively utilize resource management digital systems (such as WorkDay, Excel, PowerPoint, Training databases, etc)
Must be able to communicate well both written and verbally with stakeholders at all levels
You will be primarily home-based but with the requirement of circa 25% travel within the UK (and occasionally across Northern Europe). Our wind farms range from off the coast of East Anglia right up to the north of Scotland currently, so travel to these windfarm locations would be required
Our Service organisation in the UK has a country Service base in Newcastle Upon Tyne which will require frequent short trips for internal meetings
The physical ability to go offshore and climb a Wind Turbine Generator with your technicians to experience their day would be beneficial
