In 2025 Schneider Electric South Africa will introduce a programme which allocates a portion of our bursary spend toward children of our employees. If you have a child who is entering or at a recognized tertiary institute studying toward a STEM qualification they can apply to be considered for a full or partial SE bursary. Please review the attached policy as fringe benefit tax will apply if your dependent is successful.
Eligibility Criteria:
· Be a South African citizen.
· Be a dependent of a Schneider Electric employee (verification will be required).
· Registered at an accredited South African university (Postgraduate studies will be funded under exceptional circumstances).
· Pursuing a STEM program, such as BEng/BEngTech/BScEng in Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechatronics, or a BSc. in Computer Science/Informatics/Information Systems.
· Strong academic performance:
o 70% and above overall academic average with consistent performance (1st and 2nd year).
o 65% and above overall academic average with consistent performance (3rd year).
· Demonstrated financial need (supporting documents will be required).
· Female applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
What does the bursary cover?
· Comprehensive Financial Support: Full or partial tuition, accommodation, books, and a living allowance, all assessed based on financial need to ensure you have the resources to focus on your studies.
· Mentorship Programs: Gain access to mentorship programs that provide guidance, support, and insights from experienced professionals in your field.
· Career Development Opportunities: Participate in career development workshops and training sessions designed to enhance your skills and prepare you for the job market.
· Vacation Work: Eligibility for vacation work during the winter vacation period (June/July), giving you practical experience and a chance to apply your knowledge in real-world settings.
· Networking Opportunities: Connect with industry professionals and potential future employers through networking events, seminars, and conferences, helping you build valuable relationships and expand your professional network.
If you would like your child to be considered for a bursary, they should please apply with your CV, academic transcripts, university (provisional) acceptance letter, and a copy of your ID; referral details: Include the full name and contact information of the Schneider Electric employee referring you to the program, before 15th February 2025
