Role Overview

This position is accountable for formulating sales goals and objectives for Mining Minerals & Metals (MMM) segment French speaking Africa cluster in close collaboration with Europe, French speaking Africa VP

Develops strategies and schedules to meet these goals and objectives. This position is also accountable for researching, analyzing and developing strategies, in collaboration with the segment and cluster, for expanding existing markets and opening new markets. Provides coaching and development activities for sales staff necessary to ensure execution of plans.

Primary Role & Responsibilities

The Mining Minerals & Metals & Cement (MMM) is accountable to:

  1. Work closely with the segment and the Business Unit VP of the cluster and Middle East Africa region to adequately define and fine tune MMM Strategy
  2. Execute the MMM Strategy for the cluster in close collaborations with the salespeople
  3. Meet and/or exceed the Segment Sales targets and associated financial Key Performance Indicators as mainly measured in Order intake growth;
  4. Identify and unfold all business MMM opportunities in the cluster
  5. Sell all Schneider Electric offer consisting of all products, solutions, services including Digitalisation
  6. Maintain the opportunity pipeline. Animate bi-Quartly Pipeline review with the cluster. Support Sales people.
  7. Engage with all Business Unit to share business opportunities and foster solutions;
  8. Develop and nurture business relationship with MMM Customers

Secondary missions:

  • Defines potentials and appropriate sales strategies for the market segment. Partners with end users to plan strategies, provide quality service, train customer's personnel, and provide support necessary for attainment of customer's goals and objectives. Anticipates obstacles and identifies alternative strategies.
  • Formulates, communicates, implements, and evaluates strategic and tactical sales plans which support business development and increase market share. Monitors outside (or inside) sales performance.
  • Facilitates the coordination of cross-functional activities, resources, and establishes key matrix relationships. Deploys company resources and provides support to the sales force in order to meet the sales objectives.
  • Maintains active relationships with Schneider Electric customers (potential). Negotiates discrepancies between customer's expectations and the organization.
  • Provides coaching and development activities necessary to ensure successful execution of plans.
  • Assists staff in dealing with specific target audiences.
  • Coordinates sales activities in the market segment with other areas and sales account manager to penetrate target accounts.


Mining Minerals & Metals (MMM) Segment Manager Profile

  • Education preferred: engineering degree
  • Experience in Industrial Segments;
  • Some years in sales with major projects experience;
  • Fluent in Arabic, French & English (spoken and written);

Mining Minerals & Metals (MMM) Segment Manager Skills

  • Good understanding of the customers’ problems & technology, industry-specific knowledge preferred (good capacity to listen);
  • Good analytical and technical skills;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as negotiation and influencing skills in a multicultural environment;
  • Good knowledge of electrical distribution, automation, control products and critical power
  • Autonomous, entrepreneurial & team spirit.


  • 6-10 years of Industry Experience
  • Ability to lead a team, set targets and delegate to execute on strategy
  • Good knowledge of business sector
  • Good understanding of contract terms and conditions

Main performance indicators:

  • Opportunity Pipeline;
  • Talent Management (Continuous development to improve sales professionals which will yield overall performance improvement) and preference for Schneider products, services, and solutions within the cluster.
