Why this role matters

As the HVAC Electrician (Solar & BESS ) you will perform electrical and HVAC work on the Plant, that will include modification, repair, and maintenance of applicable equipment and systems as well as switching, isolation, earthing, and LOTO duties as per Authorisation level.

This is a role for someone who wants to combine technical depth with purpose, learn in a fast-moving international business, and build experience in one of the world’s most relevant industries.

What you'll be doing

  • Perform OEM-specific Preventative and Corrective Maintenance tasks on BESS, trackers, and all other PV electrical equipment
  • Quality assurance checklists and inspections to document deficiencies and identify corrective actions needed
  • Control and perform monthly electrical equipment/instruments and tools inspections
  • HVAC Duties: Implement equipment service specifications informed by contractual requirements and maintenance schedule
  • Install & and commission HVAC equipment as per OEM specification
  • Perform work in the modification, technical troubleshooting, repair test, and maintenance of all facility electrical and HVAC equipment and systems
  • Daily digital reporting and document on CMMS the maintenance activities of all facility, HVAC equipment, systems, and spare parts
  • Monitor, support, and assist the activities of the BESS Maintenance Contractor
  • Interpret electronic schematics and blueprints

What you'll bring

Experience and Qualifications

  • N3 Qualification and Permit-to-work system and/ or ORHVS knowledge
  • Qualified and Registered Installation Electrician (Not single-phase tester)
  • Air-Conditioning, Refrigeration and Ventilation Systems Certificate from an accredited training provider (e.g ETQA/QCTO/MERSETA/ SAIRAC or SARACCA)
  • Knowledge of Solar PV Plant & BESS
  • 3+ years Electrical experience and proven experience in HVAC systems troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance
  • Proven experience with HV Switching, Solar PV Plant & BESS and knowledge of ORHVS, SCADA and CMMS
