Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for an Asset Analyst in Cape Town, South Africa to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future. As our Asset Analyst you will support the financial and operational performance of renewable energy assets through financial modelling, performance analysis and engagement with key stakeholders including lenders, finance and operations teams.

Main responsibilities

• Develop and maintain financial models to track asset performance, forecasts and scenario analysis
• Analyse financial and operational data to provide insights and recommendations to Asset Management
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial control processes across assets
• Manage lender reporting requirements and monitor compliance with debt covenants
• Monitor project-level P&L, cash flow and performance against budget
• Support administration and compliance of project financing agreements and contracts
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders including Finance, Legal, O&M teams and lenders
• Drive improvements in reporting, data analysis and performance tracking tools

Qualifications and competencies

• 3–5 years’ experience in Project Finance, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Modelling, Transaction Advisory, Investment Banking or Corporate Finance
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Science, Mathematics or equivalent
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
• Experience working with financial models, cashflow analysis and large datasets
• Proficiency in Excel and data visualisation tools (e.g. PowerBI)
• Experience in renewable energy or infrastructure projects is advantageous
• Professional qualification such as CA(SA), CIMA, CFA or equivalent is beneficial
• Fluent in English, spoken and written
• You are used to changing environments and able to quickly meet new challenges
