Main purpose of position

Currently we are looking for Grid & HV Construction lead – Civil in Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.

As our Grid & HV Construction lead – Civil you will Supervise and coordinate all HV/MV substation civil works on site (Naja Hammadi-Minya-Abuqir (Alex).

Main responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all HV/MV substation civil works on site, including foundations, switchyards, buildings, cable trenches, and mechanical equipment support.
• Monitor daily progress, report on status, deviations, and risks related to quality, schedule, cost, and HSSE.
• Review and coordinate construction documentation, including method statements, work procedures, and ITPs, with engineering support.
• Support quality assurance by reviewing material specifications, datasheets, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
• Lead pre-construction meetings, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure works commence only after approvals.
• Track contractor progress, assess forecasts, and coordinate corrective or recovery plans for delays or deviations.
• Manage technical queries (TQs), inspections, audits, and ensure all activities adhere to latest drawings and specifications.
• Support final inspections, site completion, handover activities, and ensure proper documentation, including punch lists and as-built drawings.

Qualifications and competencies:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in HV substation and transmission line construction.
• Proven experience in supervising contractors and subcontractors on large-scale power projects.
• Strong knowledge of testing & commissioning procedures for HV substations and transmission lines.
• Familiarity with EETC technical specifications, grid codes, and approval processes (or relevant regulatory body)

Additional Information:

• 12 Month Contract with potential contract extension.
