Main purpose of position
Currently we are looking for Tax Manager in Cairo, Egypt to be part of our global team working together towards our vision – Improving our future.
As our Tax Manager, you will ensure professional and efficient management of all Egyptian direct and indirect tax matters, including tax structuring, compliance, accounting, and controversy. You will be part of an ambitious global Finance team and play an important role in supporting decision-making, optimizing tax efficiency, and ensuring Scatec maintains a strong and compliant tax position."
Main responsibilities
- Ensure timely and accurate filing of local and international tax returns, maintaining full compliance with applicable tax regulations and identifying potential risks.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors for reviews, filings, regulatory reporting, and management of tax audits or controversy matters.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate potential impacts on the organization to relevant stakeholders.
- Oversee the preparation and review of tax provisions, collaborate with accounting teams to reconcile tax accounts, and assist in tax-related disclosures for financial reporting and audits.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal controls related to tax processes, including deferred tax and liability reporting.
- Develop and implement tax-efficient strategies to support business objectives, including guidance on mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
- Partner with legal and financial teams to optimize organizational structures, cross-border tax arrangements, and review contracts to minimize tax exposure.
- Act as an internal adviser for tax-related questions, liaise with the Transfer Pricing Manager, and review tax assumptions in financial models for both existing and development-stage projects.
Qualifications and competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in tax compliance, accounting, and tax structuring, preferably within a corporate tax department.
- Fluent in English (written and spoken).
- Proficient in tax compliance software and ERP systems.
- Strong understanding of tax regulations and expertise in tax accounting principles.
- Experience in tax controversy, financial modeling, tax compliance, and tax structuring.
